What’s the difference between pre galvanized pipes and hot dipped galvanized steel pipes?
There are many differences between the pre galvanized pipes and hot dipped galvanized steel pipes. Many customers have doubts about the two types and here we make some explanation about how we choose the type we need for our work or project.
First the raw steel coils are different. Pre galvanized steel pipes are formed by GI coils, and hot dipped galvanized pipes are black pipes + hot dipped galvanization progressing. Secondly the sizes and thickness ranges are quite different. Pre galvanized pipes usually for the thin thickness (0.5mm to 2.3mm on most cases) and small sizes (OD100mm or below), while the hot dipped galvanized sizes can reach 8inches or even bigger. Thirdly, the zinc coating thickness for pre galvanized usually from 40g/sqm to 275g/sqm, but hot dipped galvanized can be 230g/sqm to 500g/sqm. Last the cost is also different, most cases the pre galvanized steel pipes is a bit cheaper, and hot dipped galvanized pipes a bit higher cost but anti-rust properties.
